Introduction to the NEW Native XML Support in DB2

Keywords: IBM DB2, Native XML Database

Abstract

DB2 supports XML at the same footing as SQL. This implies advanced storage/indexing techniques and powerful querying capabilities for XML data. Structured and semi-structured data can be efficiently stored in the same datastore and queried using a flexible mix of SQL/XML and XQuery languages. This presentation will give an overview of the NEW DB2 Native XML capabilities such as storing, indexing, and querying XML data stored natively in DB2.
