HL7

Founded in 1987, Health Level Seven, Inc. is a not-for-profit, ANSI-accredited standards developing organization dedicated to providing a comprehensive framework and related standards for the exchange, integration, sharing, and retrieval of electronic health information that supports clinical practice and the management, delivery and evaluation of health services. HL7's more than 2,000 members represent approximately 500 corporate members, including 90 percent of the largest information systems vendors serving healthcare.

HL7 is an international community of healthcare subject matter experts and information scientists collaborating to create standards for the exchange, management and integration of electronic healthcare information. HL7 promotes the use of such standards within and among healthcare organizations to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare delivery for the benefit of all.


Liberty Alliance

The Liberty Alliance Project is an alliance of more than 150 companies, nonprofit and government organizations from around the globe. The consortium is committed to developing an open standard for federated network identity that supports all current and emerging network devices. Federated identity offers businesses, governments, employees, and consumers a more convenient and secure way to control identity information in today's digital economy, and is a key component in driving the use of e-commerce and personalized data services, as well as Web-based services. Membership is open to all commercial and noncommercial organizations.


NISO

NISO, the National Information Standards Organization, a non-profit association accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), identifies, develops, maintains, and publishes technical standards to manage information in our changing and ever-more digital environment. NISO standards apply both traditional and new technologies to the full range of information-related needs, including retrieval, re-purposing, storage, metadata, and preservation.


OASIS

OASIS is a not-for-profit, global consortium that drives the development, convergence and adoption of e-business standards. Members themselves set the OASIS technical agenda, using a lightweight, open process expressly designed to promote industry consensus and unite disparate efforts.


RosettaNet

RosettaNet is a globally supported standards organization that provides unmatched leadership in promoting collaborative commerce. With over seven years of proven industry application, RosettaNet is used and endorsed by more than 500 companies around the world. Our standards have been implemented by companies of all sizes, from small enterprises to huge global conglomerates.


SICoP

The Semantic Interoperability Community of Practice (SICoP) is organized around the purpose of achieving "semantic interoperability" and "semantic data integration" in the government sector. SICoP's goal to enable Semantic Interoperability, includes specifically the "operationalizing" of these technologies.


W3C

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) develops interoperable technologies (specifications, guidelines, software, and tools) to lead the Web to its full potential. W3C is a forum for information, commerce, communication, and collective understanding.


WS-I

WS-I is an open industry organization chartered to promote Web services interoperability across platforms, operating systems and programming languages. The organization’s diverse community of Web services leaders helps customers to develop interoperable Web services by providing guidance, recommended practices and supporting resources. All companies interested in promoting Web services interoperability are encouraged to join the effort.


XML.gov

The purpose of XML.gov is to facilitate the efficient and effective use of XML through cooperative efforts among government agencies, including partnerships with commercial and industrial organizations.
